LINEN IN ANCIENT TIMES
Woven fabrics of
flax are among the oldest in the world. More than eight thousand years linen
clothes were used by ancient Egyptians. Linen clothes was considered sacred and
used for prayers and sacrifices, and for mummification of the Egyptian
Pharaohs.
Linen has always been one of the necessary permanent in ancient Lithuanian satellites in different areas also. It could be that flax was grown in Lithuania for about 4000 years. Linen fabrics was used in Lithuanian funeral rites as well.
Renaissance linen
became a luxury brand. Aristocrats decorated their table with linen products,
as well as linen products were used in personal care applications.
In Lithuanian folk
linen was considered a sacred plant. The elders believed that the linen has a
special power against devils, witches and other evil spirits and had a lot of
songs about it.

Linen is beneficial
for the skin, which makes breathing, makes cool effect in summer and warm in
cold days. Linen does not cause allergic reactions and is a natural antiseptic.
It accumulates less dirt, lime scale and soap.

have shown that sleeping in linen bedding lets to fall asleep easier and sleep
gets better quality.
Linen is very
strong (several times stronger than cotton), has good wearing properties,
excellent moisture absorption.
A linen fabric is
easy to wash and dries quickly.
Linen is
natural. All products made from linen
are biodegradable.
Depending on the
material composition of the fabric structure and used yarn, the product could
shrink of 4% to 7% after washing.
WASHING AND STAIN REMOVAL
It is recommended
to wash in cool water separately from other laundry detergent use for the first
time, which does not contain any whitening ingredients.
Repeated washing
can be washed with similar colors of clothing.
It is recommended
to wash with soap or gentle detergents in large quantity of water because linen
fabrics absorb moisture very well.
Wash by your hands
or by washing machine using a cold wash mode, silk or hand-engine. The best
temperature is 30 degrees or colder, but sometimes white cloth can be washed at
95 ° C, the colored up to 60 ° C water. Select the temperature to maintain the
product according to instructions.
Stains from linen
products easy to remove, but it should be done immediately before the stain is
wet. Stains and dirt are removed by washing, even in cool water, using soap or
detergent.
WHITENING
Bleaching with
chlorine is not recommended. Bleached bleach only other white tissues or
products.
DRYING
To avoid crumple,
don’t drill laundry before drying.
It is not
recommended to dry linen products in direct sunlight, because direct sunlight
discolors the fabric. The best way – to dry in the shade..
Drying mechanically
linen is quick drying and it is very easy to parch it. Dryer can dry and very
rarely softens or multiple scoured clothing. Be careful and choose a lower
drying temperature.
IRONING
It is recommended
to iron the wet linen products. If the product is completely dry - it is
recommended to wet a bit with water before the collation and comparison.
Compare a hot iron,
and always start with the comparison of the least visible part. It is easiest
to compare with the steam iron.
Highest ironing
temperature - 200 ° C.
STORAGE OF LINEN PRODUCTS
Linen products are
recommended to store in a dry, well ventilated place.
Do not store the products in plastic bags or cardboard boxes. Choose a special bag for clothes storage.
